Balloons - Frequently Asked Questions

Why buy a balloon kit from you?

Premium grade balloons for a standard size can cost between $15 to $22 per bag and a typical balloon garland usually uses a minimum of three colors. To get a professional balloon garland aesthetic we usually use a between 3 and 4 sizes. Materials alone can be well over $100 for premium grade balloons.  Purchasing a DIY kit saves on material costs by only ordering the quantity needed.

Is there really a difference between Amazon type balloons and premium brands?

No judgement against Amazon balloons at all, in fact Amazon balloon kits were my go to before I decided to launch my Company. Until I actually used premium grade balloons I thought they were all the same as well. I was completely wrong!  There is actually a night and day difference between premium brands and the types of brands typically found on Amazon/Party City/Hobby Lobby etc.

Again, if Amazon type balloons meet your needs and serve your purpose, then go for it! Sometimes it just doesn't make practical sense to go with premium brands, and that's ok and understandable. My kids didn't care what types of balloons they were, they were just happy to celebrate with balloons!

What brands do you use?

We typically use Tufftex, Sempertex and Qualatex for all our garlands including the DIY kits.  On occasion there might be a color that isn't available or out of stock, in those instances we have also substituted with Gemar and Kalsian, which are also professional quality balloons.

Can you do a double stuffed/custom kit?

Yes! We love experimenting with custom colors! If there is a combination you are not sure about, we can send you a picture and video and also send you a picture and video of the colors blown up to see how colors work together.  The balloons on our bounce house rules signs are all double stuffed colors.

Just note that the cost of custom/double stuffed colors is more. Not only are we using twice the materials, but the labor involved is also much more.  It is a manual, tedious process to stuff the balloons and takes much longer to inflate as either a hand pump is needed or a professional balloon pump is required takes longer to inflate than the pink pumps.

What are differences between premium  brands and Amazon type brands?

These are the main differences I've noticed between Amazon type balloons and premium brands.

  • Round shape. I was never really able to get a true round, bubble like shape with Amazon brands. The round shape is key in getting that professional look.

  • Durability.  Premium grade balloons are just easier to work with, tie and manipulate. You can pull them, stretch them, and even dig your nails in them without them popping.   If your event is outdoors, lower quality balloons tend to pop when they come in contact with grass, bushes, and trees. Premium grade balloons typically will not pop when coming in contact with grass, bushes, or trees. They are also not as tough on your fingers. My hands might be sore after tying hundreds of balloons, however, I don't really get blisters and they don't dry out my hands as much, as the lower quality brands.

  • Color. Lower quality balloons tend to have more streaks and the color is typically not consistent on the entire balloon and they also tend to have what we call "balloon nipples", which is when, the tip at the top of the balloon is darker than the rest of the balloon. The thicker quality latex really makes a difference a huge difference.

  • Biodegradable. The premium brands we use are all biodegradable.

  • Smell. Most if not all balloons I have purchased from Amazon have a very unpleasant, chemical smell.  I thought all balloons smelled this way, but boy was I wrong! With small kids at home it is important for me to be as chemical free to the extent possible. 4

When purchasing premium brands you really are paying for a better quality product and not just for a name.
